Press Release

A Cat's Tale

Children's author, Lindy Lindemann is carving a name for herself in two worlds, new and creative children's books and Animal Services charities. The entire proceeds from her adorable book, A Cat's Tale - One Cat's Search for the Meaning of Life are donated to animal shelters at a time when donations for the care of these discarded and homeless animals are suffering  in the wake of economic stresses.

What sets Lindemann's children's stories apart, are their ability to invoke messages that serve as lessons which can impact character building for a life time while sparking joy and imagination in children. These little lessons of wisdom are explored through the voice and adventures of a cat. In search of a name of his very own, Tom Cat makes his way out into the world. His quest piques the adventuresome spirit and motivation levels of even the pre-K set. Children love the sense of a challenge they can possibly win. They've yet to reach the levels of cynicism and loss of confidence from experiencing failed goals. Their character can be molded by these simple lessons. If a cat can do it, so can I!

Lindy's beautifully illustrated stories are written in a unique poetical style all its own. It's a delight to all children and adults alike. "No matter how old you are," Lindemann says. "you should look for your own special place in the world, even if you have to swim against the current, even if you have to leave behind everything you know that is safe and cozy."

Using the wisdom found in nature, Lindy writes stories that bond children to adults, both parents and teachers, and adults to children by their re-introduction into the instinctual and innocent workings of a child's mind prior to the years of the cultural influences of their parents, extended families, their environment and their peers.

Lindemann's new series introduces Kicklighter Shadow and his Beeples friends. Kicklighter Shadow is an elf zookeeper and his beeples are fuzzy forest characters sharing his home in an oak tree. The Kicklighter Shadow and the Beeples stories focus on the universal themes of sharing and caring and a fascinating curiosity about the world around them. I find myself anticipating their next adventure along with the children.

The Beeples Birthday Bash and the soon to be released, The Un-Birthday Party includes party games and treat recipes at the back of the books to help moms prepare their own children's Birthday Bash parties for their special day. This addition in itself is an opportunity for children to take a creative role in their birthday celebrations.

Lindemann draws her expertise from her own experiences as an occupational therapist enabling her to work with mentally ill and retarded adults and special needs children and adolescents. She continues to reach out to these groups through speaking engagements at schools and libraries and radio talk shows. Lindy is also working on a young adult novel addressing dealing with different levels of schizophrenia based on her own experiences and the resultant issues of the drug addictions of her younger sister.

At the end of the day, Lindy Lindemann is led by her love of nature and animals and relating to children. Keep your eye on her, Lindemann is going places and it's well-deserved. In supporting her work, you are helping to serve worthwhile causes and buying a great gift and learning experience for the children in your life.

Is your company interested in selling my book?

We've sold over 500 copies in the silent release of my books. We've had performers at various libraries and other locations promoting my book. We've had interviews on radio and television. Also, there are multiple articles in the newspapers. I've hosted many book signings and national distribution.

In Pelican Press, September 11, 2008, they said, "Beautifully illustrated (A Cat's Tale) by a nationally know artist, Jody Wheeler. "A Cat's Tale is aimed at children, but its message applies equally to all ages," Lindemann says.

In Gulfcoast Family Living, Jan-Feb 2008, they said, "This book (A Cat's Tale) will lead you down a path to follow your dreams so you will find true wisdom, your special place in the world., your purpose in life, and your true identity. Tom the cat finds these things for himself while he travels down the road in his search for the true meaning of life. This book shows that when a student is ready, the teacher will appear."
